Paris, September 11, 2023 – 8 am – The Board of Directors of Hopium (ALHPI - FR0014000U63) announces the appointment of Sylvain LAURENT, the current CEO of Hopium, to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Serving as a board member of Hopium since December 2021 and as CEO since December 2022, Sylvain LAURENT is a seasoned professional and trained engineer who has held key positions at IBM, PCO Technologies, and Dassault Systèmes. He has particularly excelled in product offering development and the transformation of industrial organizations.

His significant contribution to the globalization of Dassault Systèmes, where he became President of the Asia-Oceania region, was crucial in elevating this region to a major contributor to the company's revenue. This accomplishment earned him the Magnolia Award from the Shanghai government in 2019. In 2022, Sylvain LAURENT was appointed Chairman and Executive Vice President of the Dassault Systèmes Group before joining Hopium as CEO.

His appointment as Chairman of the Board will be subject to approval at the next ordinary general meeting and concerns the remaining term of Alain GUILLOU, whom he succeeds, until the general assembly called to rule on the accounts closed on December 31, 2024.

Sylvain LAURENT and the entire Board of Directors wished to thank Alain GUILLOU for his valuable contribution to Hopium over the past months.

As the CEO and Chairman of Hopium, Sylvain LAURENT emphasized that the unique features of Hopium's fuel cell are attracting real interest from mobility stakeholders:

"In the context of the increasing decarbonization of our societies, hydrogen is set to play a key role. Producing hydrogen will soon be within the reach of all economies, especially in France where we already benefit from increasingly decarbonized electricity, based on a mix of renewable energies and nuclear power. The fuel cell developed by Hopium is among those technologies capable of democratizing access to hydrogen electric transportation. That is why our teams remain fully committed to completing its development up to the TRL 6 prototype level, which will allow, before its commercialization, to demonstrate its technological maturity."
